The fact remains. South Park DID censor the episode, so the ball has started rolling.
They could have refused to censor the image and let comedy central take the hit by pulling this show.

Jon Stewart used the opening act of “The Daily Show” on Thursday night to address Comedy Central’s recent censorship of “South Park.” That channel, which also runs “The Daily Show,” added audio bleeps to Wednesday night’s “South Park” after the show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, were warned by an Islamic group that they could face violent repercussions for showing a character in a bear suit said to be the Prophet Muhammad.

While Mr. Stewart came down heavily in favor of his “good friends and colleagues, Trey and Matt,” he said of Comedy Central: “It’s their right. We all serve at their pleasure. I have, more than once, been called out of my home on a Sunday to dance for the head of programming at his winter chalet.”

On Thursday afternoon, Trey Parker and Matt Stone released the following statement:

In the 14 years we’ve been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn’t stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn’t some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle’s customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn’t mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We’ll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we’ll see what happens to it.

I think they should send Muhammad to a bear mascot conference, and then bring the the wrong one back and keep using that one. Then they'll not be allowed to show cartoons of bears. Good luck Yogi. Yogi is a Buddhist symbol I think, so if they start selling as well.
